Leprechaun is a classic horror film that is so horrible that it's excellent. The narrative is ludicrous, the acting is exaggerated, and the special effects are laughable. Plot of the Leprechaun film:
After visiting his homeland Ireland in 1983, Dan O'Grady returns to North Dakota. O'Grady learns after burying the riches that the leprechaun murdered his wife. O'Grady uses a four-leaf clover to trap the leprechaun. He's dead before he can burn him.
The O'Grady farmhouse is rented by J. D. Redding and his daughter Tory, now a teenager, ten years later. Nathan Murphy, his 10-year-old brother Alex, and their dopey friend Ozzie Jones are working as contract workers to renovate the farmhouse. While exploring the cellar, Ozzie overhears the leprechaun calling for help and mistakes him for a little child. As soon as the old four-leaf clover is freed from the carton, the leprechaun is free to go. The leprechaun tells Ozzie that he's a shoemaker from Ireland who came to America in quest of better opportunities. Ozzie fails to convince the others that he saw a leprechaun, but he does spot a rainbow, which he follows in the hopes of finding a pot of gold at its end. Worried that Ozzie would hurt himself, Alex decides to pursue him. With a wave of his wand, a bag holding one hundred gold coins appears before Ozzie. After Ozzie examines the gold and accidentally swallows a coin, thinking that doing so would cure his brain damage, they bury the loot in a deep, ancient well.
At the farm, the leprechaun gets J. D. to walk into a trap by pretending to be a cat and biting and hurting his hand. After Tory and the others take the leprechaun to the hospital, he rides a tricycle. Alex and Ozzie go to a pawn shop to check the purity of the gold. The leprechaun kills the owner, Joe, for taking his gold and polishes Joe's shoes before running away. On his way back to the farm, the leprechaun builds himself a little go-kart and gets pulled over by a police officer for going too fast. The leprechaun chases the cop into the woods, where he ends up killing the cop. The leprechaun goes back to the farmhouse and looks for his treasure while shining every pair of shoes he sees. After dropping J.D. off at the hospital, the group heads back to the farmhouse. When Nathan goes outside to see what was taken, he gets hurt by a bear trap set by a leprechaun. Outside, the group attacks the leprechaun with rocks and clubs and beats him up.
As soon as they find a gun in the house, the leprechaun is ambushed and shot many times. They attempt to leave the property after it becomes clear that it won't work, but the leprechaun has already wrecked the engine of the vehicle. After crashing the car with the go-kart, the leprechaun causes the group to be in fear until Ozzie reveals to the leprechaun that he and Alex found the treasure chest. Tory is the one who descends into the well and retrieves the bag, which she subsequently presents to the leprechaun. They make their way to the hospital, certain that the worst is behind them. During the process of counting his fortune, the leprechaun learns that he is short one coin since Ozzie ate it. He threatens them since he is under the impression that they have tricked him, but Ozzie stops him by explaining that O'Grady had a stroke and was sent to a nursing home. The group is able to distract the leprechaun's attention when they throw dirty shoes at him. As a result, the leprechaun is compelled to go shine the shoes while Tory gets into her vehicle and drives away. Tory travels to the home in order to get information on how to kill the leprechaun.
The leprechaun poses as O'Grady at the nursing home. The leprechaun follows Tory to an elevator and, as Tory runs away, hurls O'Grady's bloody corpse down the elevator shaft. O'Grady warns her that the only way to kill the leprechaun is with a four-leaf clover, which just so happens to grow in a large patch outside the farm, before passing away. Tory goes back to the farmhouse to look for a clover, but the leprechaun attacks and she is saved by Nathan and Ozzie. The leprechaun is wounded severely while attempting to obtain the remaining gold coin, which Ozzie confesses to having eaten. Alex uses a four-leaf clover that Tory discovered, attaches it to a wad of gum, and fires it into the leprechaun's mouth, causing him to (blog) melt away before he can murder Ozzie. Despite falling down the well, the leprechaun's skeleton gets out and declares, "I want my gold." After Nathan forces the leprechaun back into the well, he uses gasoline to ignite both objects. When the police show up, Tory is reunited with her father, marries Nathan, and they have a child. The leprechaun swears he won't stop until he finds every single bit of his wealth while the police search the well's wreckage.

After the producers insisted on making the movie scarier so it would appeal to older audiences, several scenes had to be reshot.
George Lucas cast Warwick Davis in Willow. Less-known is why. Davis was under contract to Lucas, thus he needed authorization to appear in the film. As a consequence, he received a "special thanks" credit. This fact makes the movie more interesting for horror aficionados. It's another illustration of Lucas's cultural effect.
The leprechaun was supposed to run away to Ireland at first. But there was one problem: Warwick Davis, an Irish actor who played the leprechaun, did not have a work visa. In order to film the last scene, Davis had to get a visa in just three days, which is usually impossible.
